In this work, we present an enhanced MIMO LA algorithm, which facilitates the improvement of the total throughput when CA is employed in HetNets. In particular, the performance of the LTE-A physical downlink channel is assessed in terms of throughput, assuming that the proposed algorithm is utilized in a closed-loop spatial multiplexing MIMO wireless system under non-continuous heterogeneous CA.
